    Hi all,

looking for some advice here...have had regular sky with a basic package for the last 6 years..now looking to upgrade to Sky+ for recording purposes.Having seen /heard all the adsandplugs they are going with,I phoned them only to be told that, instead of the sun, moon and stars, the only thing they could offer if i wanted to have the same package (but the benefit of Sky+)-was a fee of 109euro(once off).
To listen to the offers you'd think they were giving away sky boxes.....

Anyway my question is in ye're experience in negotiating with them, would it be worth going down the "I'm cancelling" route with them or is there any point?

    All opinions welcome...

    Thnx

By all means ring and cancel and tell them why. You have to give 31 days notice of cancellation anyhow so if they dont give you a free box and if you still feel like staying on as a customer you can ring them again after 30 days and say you've changed your mind.

Another option is to get your own Sky+ box (I got a new one recently on Adverts.ie for €50) and you just have to set it up and ring Sky to have the card paired with the new box.
