Laptop...black screen

    Hi laptop is going to a black screen with cursor in top left hand corner if left idle for a while. Have disabled any changes under powersave/options but cant prevent this. It doesnt shut down, but I have to reboot...cant do anything else-any ideas pls? Am using windows 7

    Moved to laptops.
    Try running the following commands from a Windows 7 recovery disc (you can download your one here if needed). Burn the iso to a DVD, boot off the DVD (as if to install Windows) and on the "INSTALL NOW" screen press repair my computer bottom left. Choose command prompt and enter these commands:
    bootrec.exe /fixboot [enter]
    bootrec.exe /fixmbr [enter]
