    Hi everyone

i am currently getting ready to purchase doors for my new house and i am so confused over what to do with skirting & architrave. I had previously planned to go for white oak doors shaker style, with oak skirting and architrave. We are getting a white oak staircase and i hope to have some wooden floors also put down. I am afraid incase it will be overload and am thinking about now having white skirting & architrave to soften the look. Does anyone have any advice or pictures of this done ?

Also if i go with white oak skirting & architrave can i paint it at a later time if i change my mind?

    Many thanks

Personally I dont like too much wood, especially if there is wooden floors also but thats just my taste. I have oak doors with white skirting and architrave. I'll post a picture if you like. I have a white stairs with a black banister and saving for charcoal carpet at the minute.

jastin123 all of them Key Benefits are true but you would save some money if you just used soft wood and painted it :)

I'm a carpenter for over 10 years i personally think it would be over kill .
the hardwood floor and doors would stand out more if you paint the skirting & architrave door frames
    hope this helps
    best of luck
