    Is this like a burning sensation right in the ball of your foot?

    I get this sometimes too.

    It could be something as simple as the straps of your shoes are too tight.

    Or, I also had a tiny corn last year which was nearly unnoticeable when walking but could really be felt after a couple of hours on the pedals. 20 minutes with the chiropodist and the job was sorted.

    I wouldn't say it's a burning feeling more like pins & needles coming from the front end of the foot by the toes and after a good long cycle when I try to walk bare footed it hurts

    Sounds like poorly fitting shoes to me (but look at saddle height/position and cleat location too).

    Over tightening shoes is a common mistake, I think it restricts blood flow which makes your feet feel cold.

    Spot on, i used to suffer from this problem despite wearing the correct sized shoes, after much advice and experimentation i sorted it out by adjusting the straps on my shoes.
    I reasonably tighten the top of the 3 straps of my shoes, that would be where you would normally tie the laces on regular shoes.This keeps it as secure as i need it. The bottom 2 straps i leave slightly looser, even allowing for a little movement of the shoe on my foot. Not a lot of movement but enough for flexing the foot and allowing for a little flexing of the toes.
    This Worked a treat for me so good luck sorting that very painful problem out.

    <snip>

    Mod note - no medical advice, or suggestions of any medical complaint(s) it may be - that's for a doctor to diagnose via proper consultation, and not for someone to comment upon on an internet forum

    Thanks

    I'm going through the same thing on one foot only. Other foot feels perfect. Shoes are not tight. I've tried moving cleat position with no improvement. I have just switched the pedals to a different bike and that feels a hell of a lot better, so maybe in my case crank on bike 1 may be slightly bent. Doesn't look it though.

    Am going to take bike 2 on a long ride on Sat so will see how I get on.

    I've googled tons about this. Seems like getting someone who knows how to diagnose proper fit is the key. And if they can video you then all the better.

    If you find someone who can do this in Cork please let us know.

    I've got a set of lewedges on the way but not sure this is the way to go for me.
