Hi everyone, we have to be in Dublin port to catch an 8.45 a.m. ferry in July. We are thinking about staying in Bewleys in Newlands Cross and I want to know how long it will take to get from Newlands cross to the Port in Dublin at that hour of the morning and what is the best route to take???
    Thanks in advance!

Well I wouldn't start from there! Seriously though I think you would be mad to stay out there as you're going to be in rush hour traffic (if it's not a weekend) all the way into town.

Would you not be better off staying in any of the hotels around the IFSC? Jurys Inn or Maldron or the Hotel beside the O2?

If it is a weekend it's just a straight run into town from there.

    Barmy idea, OP.

Out of all the hotels in Dublin I'm sure you could find somewhere much, much closer to Dublin Port. Newlands Cross is miles out of the city to try and make a morning ferry. Bewley's isn't even near the Luas either.

If you don't want to pay full whack for a City hotel, there are a ton of cheap B&B's around Gardiner St which puts you in the immediate vicinity.

It can be done easily enough OP but it will cost you. M50 north to Port Tunnel. €10 toll on the tunnel and a further €3 on the M50. Even in rush hour traffic should take no more than an hour.
