Worth getting a couple of lessons?

    Hi there.
I sing with a rock covers band - never had a singing lesson in my life.
I can sing most of the songs we do without bother, but find a couple of songs in particular strain my voice and hurt my throat
Audioslave - Like a Stone - that's one of them (from about 4minutes in)...

I was wondering if there are any techniques that could be learned in one or two sessions that would help put less strain on my voice?
I can't really afford any more lessons than that at the minute, so was wondering if there's such a thing as a quick fix?
