Laying On Betfair

Just wondering what % betfair charge on winnings when you are laying horses on their site?

I am living in Melbourne and their bookies are TABs.

Basically, you can get a fixed price with a TAB and sometimes they differ to what betfair shows.

If I lay on betfair and back in the TAB I will take home a margin.

Wondering how much of that margin will be lost though?

    Thoughts, opinions and ideas welcome.

    Thanks

5% charge on winnings starting off, it decreases as you bet but not by much for most folk.

Hi I haven't used betfair I ages but have started using the app. I just layed something and a yellow tab in the top right appeared called take. With a figure changing could someone tell me what this is?

You can hedge whatever bet you made. Example, you put 10 on a horse at 5.0. The horse then went into 2.0 in price. You can hedge the 50 you would get back if he won, and take 25 back at that price instead. This also works the other way around, ie, the price gets bigger. It basically does your laying off for you.
