LOL! :D It's all part of a big plan. Membership is only €160.
I haven't actually played it so don't know how bad it is.
Only gonna play it to get a handicap.
Haven't played golf properly since 2006-2007. Had two back ops since then.
    Used to play off 6.

Worst course I've ever played. You could have gotten Ring of Kerry for 240euro. At least you might travel down there in the summer and play a couple of times which is a great course when the ground is hard from April - October. Castlerosse in Killarney is €150 which is a nice 9 hole course and infinitely better than Frankfield.

I use to play Frankfield as a teenager. It doesnt reward good shots at all, fairways slope at 45degrees. Its a killer for your legs and back to be honest. I'd say you will play 3 rounds, get your handicap and never return to be honest.

That's the plan anyhow. If only I could find someone to play with. I'm sure there might be a few roaming around on Saturday after 2pm.

Well I played it yesterday. It's not as bad as I was expecting. The last hole is a steep climb alright which is a killer when you're at the end of the round but other than that, didn't think it was too bad.
Didn't really play that well, had 3-4 pars for 10 holes.
I think it would be a disaster in the summer though when the ground would be hard. No way could you control the ball.
    2 more rounds left.
One thing I have to say is that the people there are very friendly. Played with a nice fella and his son. He introduced me to the captain during the round and other fellas in the bar. All sound people.

I've been thinking of joining like yourself, getting my hands on the joining fee is hard these day's.

Always found the place friendly alright. I use the driving range often enough and the food/carvery is top class.

You may not play often but you will certainly use the place.

The driving range is pretty good alright. Haven't tried the food but the lads were telling me it was good alright. They do some big BBQ in the summer too.
€160 isn't bad to join though. I'm joining just to get a handicap but might contemplate playing the odd evening during the week.
Give me a shout if you're thinking of joining, we can mark each others cards to get a handicap :)

    Reganovski,

How'd you get on with the handicap after?

I'm up in Frankfield the last couple of weeks getting a few lessons and was informed about the associate membership. I'm seriously considering it just to get the handicap. Was looking at Abbeyfeale GC for €130 but that's miles away. Frankfield is only 15mins away so I could pop in of a summer evening for 3 or 4 holes. Did you have any issues? (besides the hills!!)

Still haven't managed to get three cards done. Only have 1 card signed. Gone up a few evenings but its hard to find someone to sign a card..some have refused because I've only played a few holes, which is fair enough.
Let me know if you join, I can sign your cards and you can sign mine. I'm only 10 minutes from Frankfield.
