We have small spare bed which should be the baby's if we ever move her in, it can fit a single bed and cot.
Has anyone any advice on the ikea single bed that pulls into a double one. It has drawers underneath so doubles as storage, can not post link at moment.
Any advice or options would be great.

I think I know the one you're looking at. It comes in black and white and is around €330? I googled about it before and people had good things to say about it. I gather from what they were saying that it's a part time bed and that the mattress isn't suitable to be slept on all the time (but I could have got it wrong).

    Hi CJ1,
It's a great bed. We bought it for our little one and occasionally use it as double for guests too. You buy two thin mattresses with it and they just sit side by side when pulled out into double position. Very versatile bed and the storage is great too. I've slept on the mattress and very comfortable. The bed looks lovely too. Hope this helps.

I was briefly looking at that very bed in Ikea yesterday (perfect for my guest bedroom and also space saving, when not in use).

Can I ask you,if theres space underneath for a 2nd single mattress aswell.

Does the part that you pull out, come up flush with the main bed frame so that you can make it into a double bed??

Also, how do you find it so far??

    Thanks.:)

To address your second query first Paddy147, the wooden frame encasing the drawers pulls out into a double bed position, so the two thin mattresses you usually have stacked when in single bed position now go side by side when in double bed position.

The two mattresses you should purchase with the bed lie one on top of the other when in the single bed position, so all you have to do is slide the top one over when frame is pulled out.

There is plenty of room for the two mattresses to lie on top of each other when using as single bed, as they're thin.

The mattress is slightly longer than a single mattress but thinner too so single sheets do fit..

So when its pulled out its just like a normal double bed? Both parts of the bed are dead level with each other, yes??

Also how much are the 2 mattresses?

    Thanks.:)

Yes it pulls out to become a normal double bed, both mattresses same level. Forget how much but you could check their website!
