One for all ye tillage lads...

Anyone know how to set the draft control to 'normal' position on a new hollland ? ie. I ain't ploughing! Should the handle to up at a high or a low number? Also what's the plastic yoke down at bottom of pic? It seems to click into place, but don't know it's function. Presume it has something else to do with lift?

sorry cant help you with the draft control but i would presume it would be at the lowest number.

as for the switch that clicks into place, that looks like the switch that was in the fiat 90 series tractors for quick adjusting of the lift height ie click one switch in and the other pops out dropping the lift arms and press them the opposite way around and it will raise the lift again. hard to explain but it worked well on the fiats.

IFits a fiat, the button you talk about will raise the lift to " constant pumping " if not turned off fairly soon, bye bye to yer hydraulic pump happened with me on a 110/90

Not sure about the Button Muckit but the draft lever should be set to the bottom when not in use

I've a Case JX and it has a button like the one on the bottom of your pic.

On the Case its a lock, press it down until it clicks (part on the left clicks back) and the lift arms will stay up even if you lower the lift lever.
To return to normal, open the lock, press and release lock (it will be back in the position in your pic again.

    Hi countryjimbo

You've the first cousin of my new holland ;) Thanks for reply. I'I have a messa round with it. What's the advantage of having lift arms locked up? Is it if you were using a trailer or something not to break catch the lift arms?

No you can't use it for that as the hydraulics will lift the hitch out of the hooks.

The idea is when you are doing a lot of field and headland work you set your depth and instead of lifting the lever every time and having to reset the depth you just use the button. It's a handy little feature in ways and has been on Fiats for years. Hadn't seen this particular model before though, the fiat one is normally higher up above the levers.

What your saying about the setting of the lift makes perfect sense;) And a handy feature.

Our hitch isn't worked off the lift arms. It operated by a hydraulic ram plugged into one of the spools ;)
