Hi there, I got the consumer preview of W8 and it has me stuck on a 4:3 image, 1024 x 768. I checked the resolution settings and it says generic non pnp display. It's a Sony VGN NR38 laptop.

I checked their website, no drivers for Windows 8.

    HELP :)

Dunno, have a 4 year old graphics card (mid range when I bought it) and it still runs 1080p (1920*1080) after the upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 8

All my other drivers and all my programs still worked fine after the upgrade. Except Avast antivirus, but it looks like the consumer preview kills all AV software

out of curiousity have you tried it on an external monitor ?

in the olden days I might have said look for BIOS settings to give the card a different amount of memory
