I have chorus in both my sitting room and kitchen. Sitting room, I presume is where the main connection is.

I disconnected the tv in the kitchen i.e. the aerial and the scart lead....left the box in place.....I was painting.

So I re-connected it and network configuration came up and went through the motions and sops at the ?

I rang UPC for technical help but the lassie there hadn't a clue and is sending out a repair guy:eek:

I am sure it is something simple? The service in the sitting room is working perfectly.

Any ideas? Do I need to re-boot or something????

    Thanks

Can you explain "network configuration came up and went through the motions and sops at the ?" in a little more detail please? What exactly is it doing and how far into the setup process is it getting?

This Network Configuration comes up on the screen and then it says "Your Network's Name is: ?"

Obviously it is trying to connect to the stations and the Sagem box is just showing "men" and a red light is flashing!

Any ideas? i STILL have the channels in the other room. This seems daft for just disconnecting the TV!!

You need to connect the aerial connection to the box before connecting power to it.

Confirm the aerial is hooked into the UPC box. Then power it off, by unplugging the power lead, then power it on again. Wait 5 minutes and see what it says.

Try to write down exactly what you get.

Also it might help telling if you have an aerial on the roof (MMDS) or live in a town with true cable TV.

If you powered it up, or left it on, with no aerial connected this could have caused the fault.
Let us know how you get on.

sounds like a sagem box on mmds, be sure that the cable lead is connected to the outer connector (there is 2) and that the centre core of the aeriel lead is protruding slightly from the connector
