Paintfilling Clubs

    Hi lads,

I have recently had a few attempts at paint filling my wedges, etc.. and have had reasonable results, i've used "Elmer's Painters Markers" which I bought from the US following some googling on how to do this and what people use. However I'm a bit of a perfectionist and I definately feel I could do a way better job if I used maybe a better paint and had a bit better information. So hoping some of ye have done ye're own clubs and could recommend any tips and better paints, etc...

    Many thanks

    Woody

Just did this for my putter last week. I was cleaning it a while back and put it in some very hot water and the paint came off.

I just got the missus to get me some nail polish. I needed orange for my detour putter and it turns out they do all colours these days. I just put a liveral amount all over the lettering, waited a minute and then wiped it with a cloth with some nail varnish remover on it and it cam out absolutely perfect.

    Hope this helps.

I paintfilled the dots on my putter. Again, just used a bit of nail varnish and took off the excess with a bit of nail varnish remover :)

Thanks for the replies lads, will give the nail polish idea a try. Did any of you put a sealer or clear coat over the nail poilish when finished?

    Thanks again,
    Woody

I didn't. It's been three or four months since I did it and there's still no chips or anything in the paint.

I just used the varnish, it was only a few days ago so not sure how long it lasts. anyway it only takes a minute or two to do it again

I have some scratches on my driver head from dropping it on a gravel. I'm not sure if the above advice of nail polish will help as its a black finish.

Is there a company that fix these or will most golf shops cover this?
