Bye bye my old financial friend, I always thought you'd come back but it's been 4 years now & no sign of you returning.
Performance based they said, should only ever increase they said . . . someone lied.
Credit Card debt would be wiped out, summer holidays paid for and a little left over for a dirty weekend.
It'll be become a mystical thing of times past, like when your parents told you about cabbage sandwiches during the war.

Sure I only would have spent it anyway.:(

Yes but then you only have 12 months in which to spread it across;)

So you're really saving yourself the cost of the 13th month's living expenses:p

I assume you work in financial services and I thought they were still getting their bonuses.

No, I'm an engineer, I actually make stuff & not try to invent money out of nothing.

Someone will be in soon to tell you 'you should be grateful for having a job'.

    Tell them to f**k off.

If you used to get a bonus that used to cover the above, I'm sure you're earning a decent wage anyway, get over it or go on strike :p

Pure filth, no other way of describing it.
I wouldn't have stayed in the hotel room a 2nd night knowing what we'd done in it.

Bonuses were large but it was a big employers scam anyway.
In truth it was 10-15% of your salary withheld so they weren't liable for the pension contribution, it also discouraged someone from leaving mid-year.

Sounds like a **** deal. And if it's part of your salary then you're entitled to it!

That battle was fought & lost.
To add insult to injury we had a 10% reduction in pay also.
Been frozen like that since 2008.

Get my raise and bonus next week. Raise is 66% less than promised and bonus is 33% less also. Will still have enough for a family holiday, golf club membership for the year and to change my car, but still gutted. Like the OP the bonus is effectively part of my salary, and the feckers have skinned me for a good few grand that I had worked hard for.

Of course, I've no need for it. Just send me your bank account details and €500 and I will be able to release the money to your account.

Right away sir. That'll be another €200 though.

This bonus is getting bloody expensive
Then I'll have to pay 50% tax on top
Keep it, I'd only squander it on coke & hookers anyway.

Never worked for a company that paid out a decent annual bonus.

stuff like getting a turkey in a plastic bag with feet, giblets n' all

vouchers that you won't bother passing on as christmas presents except as stocking fillers

just about enough cash for a good night out including meal, drink and taxi
