well how long should you wait for putting out fertilizer after slurry was applied. after giving the silage ground 3000 gallons of slurry and wondering when should i go out with my two bags of urea. will probably do one bag at a time with a gap of two weeks in between but when should i put out the first bag. would it matter if i did it tomorrow even though the slurry was just finished being put out today.

    According to Fergal

I think he should let the slurry settle for a week or so you don’t want to pump too much chemicals into the soil to quickly as you might damage the fine texture of the course winter soil, allow the earth to breath before applying the extra’s
Another risk would be smothering the new grass growth you should let it establish and strengthen itself a little prior to application

I think teagasc did trails a while back and found that there was no difference between ground that was split spread and ground that got bag fertiliser all in one shot. Provided of course that both are done weather permitting and not washed away.

To answer your main question, I'm not sure about time between slurry and bag. I would think wait until slurry has worked itself in as it may hinder the bag stuff from melting in
