Windows 7 Installation

    Hi,

I purchased a windows 7 (w7) disc with licence key number and this replaced my vista on my hp pc.

Unfortunately my hard drive needed to be replaced and I should be getting it back next week.

I have been told that the vista is installed on my pc and I was wondering can I simply reinstall my w7 to replace vista.

I do remember when I purchased this w7 it did say licensed for one computer ( although it will be the same computer for the re install).

I don't want to wipe my vista during the windows 7 installation to then find w7 wont work due to a license problem.

Would w7 see a new hard drive for a new computer,

Many thanks in advance for any advice given,

OEM licenses are tied to the motherboard, so you will have no activation issues (or legal ones) re-installing Windows 7 once the motherboard is the same. If it won't activate online do it over the phone.
