Obviously I want to see the WC3 boys do great in particular SaSe, DeMusliM and ThorzaiN.

Let's see just how "good" Stephano is.

Let's see just how "good" Stephano is.

because beating polt twice in bo3 and bo5 for his 3rd (?) major tournament featuring koreans is merely beginners luck.

    1.MC
    2.DRG
    3.Stephano

fyi. I posted this on reddit. If you're watching MLG on a good screen and you've paid for HD access I recommend using 'ultra' on Central & A1

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,812 ✭✭✭IRL_Sinister

I haven't paid a cent and can watch all 4 streams in HD :X

    EDIT: I'm watching them legally.

Stephano didn't make it to Day 3. Can't say I'm surprised.

Dunno, I'm just watching them on http://www.majorleaguegaming.com/live. Apparently it's happening for some people on TL as well.

Don't think he's good enough. He's MORE hype than he ACTUALLY is. He's good, probably one of the best EU Zergs but he's nowhere near the level some, ignorant, people are making him out to be.

Why do you not believe he is one of the best EU Zergs?

What is he not 'good enough' for?

Why foreigner Zerg has superior tournament results?

Did you read my post? I said I do thoroughly believe he is one of the best foreign Zergs in the world. However, when it comes to massive internation tournaments stacked with the top Koreans he is not so good anymore. A lot of hype has revolved around Stephano being the next Flash, the next best thing. These are from ignorant people. While I DO agree he's good on a foreign level he's not the 'next best thing', doesn't have the potential to be nor ever will be. This MLG proved it, making it into the Top 32 and not the final day (albeit a decent run in the open bracket).

Huk surely is up there competing for that title.

MKP and Parting getting ready to play now !

    HuK vs PartinG. OMFG

Did you read my post? I said I do thoroughly believe he is one of
the best foreign Zergs in the world.

Did you read your own post? You explicitly stated that he is 'probably' one of the best Zergs in the 'EU' - not the world. The above is something different altogether, obviously it is far closer to the truth however.

May I ask which foreign Zerg you believe to be on par with him or better?
However, when it comes to massive internation tournaments stacked with the top Koreans he is not so good anymore.

Because of ONE MLG? Seriously? Over-react much? I didn't see the Inori games, but he lost to one of the best Terrans in the world, who only won after Steph handed him the first game on a silver platter and after Polt did the most amazingly greedy and metagamy build in the third match.
A lot of hype has revolved around Stephano being the next Flash, the next best thing. These are from ignorant people.

So you arguing against trolls that say Stephano is the next Flash? Really Sinister?

Basically your problem with Stephano comes completely from his fanboys - that is just irrational.
doesn't have the potential to be nor ever will be.

    lol, what an absurd statement.
This MLG proved it, making it into the Top 32 and not the final day (albeit a decent run in the open bracket).

So this ONE tournament proves what exactly? That he cannot be the next Flash? No one can, Flash is a one of the kind. That he cannot be the next big thing? What exactly does being the next big thing entail?

Look, Stephano, along with Naniwa, Huk and probably Thorzain, is one of the only foreigners who actually has the talent, nerve and intelligence to consistently beat top Koreans offline. He is one of only four foreigners who can actually win top class tournaments - that means he is pretty ****ing good.

Just because you dislike his fanboys and just because he isn't Flash doesn't change any of this.

Huk and Naniwa are better, although that is partly down to TvP being pretty silly.

That he'll be able to compete for big international tournaments in 2012. ie: GSL/MLG

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 855 ✭✭✭joshrogan

Huk has yet another good tournament, he's the best foreign Protoss and one of the best foreign players.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,812 ✭✭✭IRL_Sinister

HuK does great at all the MLG's. Didn't personally watch a lot of his games but I've read that his group wasn't all that hard? I don't know, but it's all about winning not how you win.

ESWC, IPL, Lonestar, 2nd in assembly.

You're trying to say they arent big international tournaments?

As opposed to MKP who wins every big tournament... no wait, i mean DRG who wins every big to... no wait nestea.. no wait, mvp ... no wait ill think of one.

    No wait. Your trolling.

If you're not trolling, watch some golf and draw some parallels.

as for even giving any sort of creedance to the notion that ANYONE in sc2 is 'the next flash'.... well that speaks for itself.

Actually, that group ended up providing most of the bracket at one point. 5 of them in the last 16.

For me, personally, the pinnacle of high-level SC2 is GSL followed by MLG. To be classified as as top, top player you need to win those. Stephano hasn't and I don't believe he will either. But that's just me, others see other Tournaments as big but that's just how I see it =)

Anyone know when the VODs will be up ?
I missed the HUK-Parting game that everyone was raving about when I was making dinner before the final.

Will they all be on the MLG site or twitch TV ?

Edit : says its up here http://www.majorleaguegaming.com/competitions/30 , but I have GOLD and still can't seem to access any.
    Apparently all FREE tomorrow anyways
