Dealextreme shipping log

    Hello all,

Not sure if this is the right place, but thought I'd post here, as it's about online buying.

Usually when I order something from Dealextreme it seems to take about three weeks to get to me, so this time I decided to keep an eye on the tracking number at http://intmail.183.com.cn

Feb 28th - Item ordered & payment received
    March 9th - Item shipped
March 13th - Item got to Guangzhou. Guangzhou seems to be a big city nearby Hong Kong.
March 19th - Item gets to Beijing International

So about three weeks so far, with a week lost as I think their was a supply issue (ordered a similar item before, and cancelled it as it didn't ship after two weeks), so if I get it in another week it shall be "on time" (most items I get from Dealextreme get shipped within two days).

So far, it seems that the package spending about ten days in Chinas postal system before it gets onto a plane is the longest hold-up. I wonder is it still done by hand, to "give everyone a job"?

This post is an informational post to help people wondering why it takes so long to get stuff from Dealextreme.

It's all about logistics, not a store can handle it, unless it's amazon :D

I wonder how actually overloaded the Chinese post service is. Ive found that over the past year it's gotten a lot slower and items tend to spend more time in china than from when they actually leave there with the exception of EMS which can be very quick at times.

I feel your pain, can't stand these sites, most stuff can be bought on eBay UK and Irish sellers anyways for maybe a little bit more expensive, but are much quicker and more reliable if bought from a reputable seller. Iv bought from the Chinese sites a few times and had so many headaches and at the end of the day only saved a few euro. Cue dealextreme/focalprice affiliates.......;p

Looks like it'll be on-time :D Three to four weeks shipping is the usual, with three being the norm.

Some people have talked about buying it from the UK, etc, but I find that when the company/seller adds shipping, it usually costs (a minimum of) a tenner extra (for the exact same "made in China" stuff). I only buy from the UK if it's a bulky package that would be noticed by customs, and/or is fragile. Or if it's actually cheaper.

I know it'll take three weeks, and this thread is just something that I can reference people to when they ask about Dealextremes shipping time.

Dealextreme also have a European hub now, the stuff tends to be about 10% dearer (usually a matter of cents for their stuff) and claims to ship quicker, I haven't tested it though.

I'm currently waiting on an order that I put through last October, item got lost in transit they offered to reship, eventually they said that the item was now out of stock and offered a refund, I asked for a replacement SKU which has supposedly processed this week.

I think they had some major problems around the Chinese New Year, they even put a video apology up on YouTube, hopefully it's resolved now.

Aye. I think I've used the UK hub. Shipping time was around 1.5 to 2 weeks.
