Imagine a grotty 60s bathroom where you just want to rip everything out and start again..would 3k do it? I'm not looking for a fancy suite - plain white, bog standard (sorry!) toilet, whb and bath + tiles on floor and wall (it's a v small room) + chrome radiator + labour.

You will get a nice modern 3 piece bathroom suite (bog, basin, bath) for about 250 euro in most buulders providers these days.

Chadwicks Builders Providers and Heaton Buckleys Builders Providers have nice bathroom suites on sale at the moment.

A chrome towel rail/heater can be got for about 80 euro aswell.

Then the rest of the money you have can be spent on some nice tiles/borders tiles and the labour costs.

A large wall tile (600 x 400mm) broken up with a nice moasic border will give a sense of a bigger space too.:)

And the same sleek moudular shaped eco push button toilets are around 100 euro in some builders providers and tile shops.

Sorry but BnQ aint as cheap as they would like you to believe.

Put in a new bathroom 3 years ago. Two rooms,The old one was a small separate loo and small bathroom with shower in the bath.
Bought a suite from B&Q, bath, HB, toilet all fittings €280. Knocked the partition wall and pulled everything out.
Put down Marine ply floor, had the suite + quadrant shower/power shower put in, new immersion + cylinder, hot press built and a new attic tank put in.
Tiled floor and walls, new presses, new partition wall, door etc, I had help from a handyman (Payed by the day) and he got the plumber and sparks for me for the trickier stuff.
Took over a week, (took a week hols) but all in €3600.

I've seen the toilets in builders merchants and i still prefer the ones in B&Q. It's all down to personal preference.

Eh,alot of builders providers sell a very good and wide range of bathroom suites,so you havent seen them all.Buying from them, you are also supporting Irish companies and Irish jobs too.

Im only trying to help out here too,and all Im doing is saying that BnQ aint the cheapest around.

The OP is on a 3k budget and wants simple things,so more money in the back pocket by going through a builders providers would be best,in my opinion.

Theres a full white 5 piece suite (lever handle toilet) for a mere 180 euro.

A full white 5 piece modular bathroom suite (push button toilet) is only 240 euro in Heiton Buckley Builders Providers,as of today.

Chrome or straight curved towel heater/rad is 69 euro.

    Thats to the public aswell.:)

Another example of BnQ not being the chepest here is with gardening products.

A large 6 feet x 6 feet square pressure treated trellis frame is 65 euro in BnQ and Woodies.:(

My local builders providers is selling the EXACT SAME 6 feet square pressure treated trellis frame for a mere 25 euro.

    I bought a heap of them yesterday.:D

40 euro cheaper than BnQ and Woodies, and thats to the public too (not trade prices).

Thanks all. I will def check out Heiton Buckley's etc..if I can find my way around the Long Mile Road..I always get lost but it's worth it. Having said that, 13 yrs ago I bought my first bathroom in Homebase for 150 punts (190 euros) and it's still going strong.
