I have missed a number of seminars in MD104! Just wondering does anyone know if this would result in me automatically failing the year?

There should be a cut off point listed in your course outline i.e. you fail if you miss 3 out of 10 seminars. It's only 1st year though so I'd be surprised if they fail you.

It says in the course outline that 90% of seminars and lectures must be attended or you MAY have to repeat the module! Do they ever fail first years based only on attendance?

I can't speak for media studies but I doubt it. They may just dock some marks off your final grade. Also a lot of module say that lecture attendance is compulsory but it rarely is excluding science degrees.

Start going to seminars next week and at least you'll have a case if they do try and get you to repeat.
