Guangzhou is a big modern city - it wouldn't even cross my mind to get vaccines going there.

That said, Hep A, tetanus and typhoid are jabs I have anyway and are pretty standard precautions if you're travelling to Asia.

    Better safe than sorry?

You'd probably be fine, but I'd get them to be safe. If others don't want them, fine, but don't let them treat you like ninny before they get sick. :)

Also, be sure to have travel insurance.

Talk to your GP, he'll tell you whats best, I got all of those when I went to China, also after your holiday go back to your GP and get a booster, they will then last for 10 years.

    HI - VISA arrived :-)

Can you tell me what vaccines I need - its 7 weeks away so best get on to it

I have a hep b vaccine already from being a first aider ( I think , can confirm)
I think Tetanus as a child - but

travelling in cities, Beijing,Xi'an but with chinese nationals planning the trip .. so could end up in a more rural area for a day or two

I have looked it up - but some of the recommendations are definitely excessive - private clinics etc

Tetanus vaccine is only good for 10 years. Better to get the basic 3 at least.
