Triax TR112 problem

I recently bought a Triax TR112 Saorview box. There's a really annoying problem though. When we turn on the box, there is no sound and a pink screen. We can see what's on the channel though. It stays like that for about 15 or 20 minutes and then starts to work properly. Was just wondering if anybody has come across this problem and if there's a solution.

The box is hooked up to the TV via HDMI. We recorded something onto a usb stick via the saorview box. We played it back and it worked perfectly. Then when we had this pink screen problem, we checked the recording and it was all pink with no sound.

I had one of the cheap brand tv's give me this problem when using Hdmi had to turn down the picture settings to 720 and havent had a problem since.

It may be worth while upgrading your software on the box to the latest version.

This can be downloaded at the following site and placing it on a usb stick, you will however need to retune in your box after you update the box.

Thanks for the reply. I updated the firmware last week, thinking it might help, but no luck. The picture setting was at 720p, so i've turned it down to 576p. I'll know tomorrow if it works.

Still no luck. Turning the picture settings down didn't help. Anybody got any other suggestions?

Unless there is a menu on the Triax where you have to pick the output - HDMI Scart YUV etc and its set to the wrong one - I have seen this by the way with DVD players.

If its not resolved by one of those menu options then.

Your hdmi cable is fecked/loose OR the boxes hdmi output is fecked OR the hdmi input on the TV is fecked OR its a HDCP issue.

    Process of elimination !

Try the lead first anything else you can connect the hdmi cable to ? DVD player.

If its the same on the DVD player, it is then the lead or the TV HDMI input socket.

Next try a different HDMI input on TV.

If its still pink at that stage it might be the hdmi cable.

If you have another hdmi cable try that. If at that stage the issue is the same, then turn off both the TV and the box. Then turn on the box first and then the TV to prove its not a handshaking issue(HDCP) between the Box and the TV via HDMI.

    What model TV ?

Thanks for the reply. I swapped the HDMI with a different one. The pictured cleared up but there was no sound. So I put back in the old HDMI. The picture went back to pink. Swapped them again and then the picture and sound were perfect. Hopefully that's the problem sorted. I'll keep an eye on it over the next few days and let ya know how it goes.

Changing the HDMI lead seems to have sorted the problem. Thanks for the help.
