Badminton in the city centre

Looking to go back to playing Badminton in Dublin but my level of fitness is at an all time low and I haven't played the sport in over ten years. Have a friend also interested in starting up and even something like hiring rackets and an hour on the court would be great - but I'm not sure if there's places that do that sort of thing.

    Thanks!

How central are you looking for? If you have a car Whitehall Road (Terenure) isn't that far out and has everything you're looking for, plus it's on a bus route. If you're Northside then Baldoyle is your best bet.

Friend of mine used to play in the ymca, also there are courts on the synge street , though no idea how to get in touch with the hall anymore. Also a club play outta aughrim street, which is more on the north side. Re racquets, you can pick em up in some places for 10-15 euro, so I would prob go with that over renting them. Whitehall road holds beginners and also improvers classes, as does baldoyle centre (its not city centre, but is on the dart line) and its a good way to meet people in a similar group.

    have fun

The Baldoyle Badminton Centre is running an Adults Badminton Course for 10 weeks on Tuesdays 7-8pm starting April, 10th. Its ideal for players returning to Badminton or for anyone just starting off. The course is limited to 36 players on eight courts, so participants are guaranteed plenty of court time. They are also split into groups of Beginners, Improvers and Back to Badminton Players, if you need any more information contact them on 01 8393355.
