acer pre built desktop machine

Hi, Just looking for someone who knows what they are talking about to throw their eye over this for me. i5 processor 3.33ghz intel hd graphics 1.7gb video memory supported with a nvidia geforce 315 512mb ddr3 500 gb hdd. 8 usb. dvd drive. this is most of what i can remember

for 540 euro. This is from a irish company near me, so just wondering for gaming. i know the likes of bf3 etc wont be great, but for the price i am paying at i kinda wanted to stick irish and close to home. is this a good price?

Its ok, but not great. Certainly wouldn't be much good for gaming. You could also get a custom build for cheaper that would give the same performance:

very bad for gaming
is not upgradable
old gen CPU with very limited mobo
PSU will be just enough to power up that pc with nothing to look forward in future.

this will be small bit more expensive, but it will blow that acer out of the water.

both of those systems will be upgradable and you will be able to add new gpu or mobo/cpu, instead of buying a brand new pc.

Not really, as that i5 is an older generation one and the i3 has better architecture. Overall they have pretty much the same performance, with the i3 being better at gaming and the i5 better at threaded tasks. You can view a comparison here:
