What kind of mini-moto motor are you talking about? Wouldn't recommend it to be honest. They are built for pedals (and pedal-like speeds), not pistons. My vote would be don't do it.
I race karts that get up and over 150MPH, with that in mind, there's no way in hell I would put a mini moto on a pedal kart for my daughter. I'd start with something at least semi purpose built with a stronger frame, decent brakes and tyres.

Not sure where you could move this TBH.

Thought about doing something like this for the brother as we had an old Ket-car type thing lying around. In the end we just trained the dogs to pull it! I'd say he enjoys that more anyways..

Get an old Go-Kart frame if you're intent on doing this by the way. The Kettler won't handle it. For a start those plastic wheels will be worn through in a week.

id also tell you to steer clear of using one of the kettler carts, firstly they wouldnt be strong enough, or safe enough for that matter, not to mention mini moto engines are nothing but problems, if its one of the air cooled 49cc cag types anyway? my advise would either be, use one of the berg type go karts, with a honda generator style engine with a clutch made for this purpose. (i think you can get these clutches on ebay or if not try the bocart website, they could possibly have them) a hell of a lot safer but requires a good bit of work at the same time, done one for my brother a few years back, works still to this day and wouldnt call it dangerous. your other option is to buy one of those 'drift carts' can be bought cheaply second hand an will last a life time, can also be made faster by removing the govenor. or if funds allow cheap 150cc buggys and the likes can be bought online, second hand an brand new.. just again id try an steer clear of any of these Chinese replica engines
    hope this helps

I used these sites and they're a very helpful bunch and theres loads of info on most issues faced by kart builders.

I have one of those chinese style Drift II karts with a honda GX160 Clone engine which is on loads of things. They go for €300-€500 on donedeal in used condition (above). Personally, I wouldn't trust the strength of the pedal kart's frame with a 5.5 HP motor going over rough terrain.

yea again its just the strength of that little go kart that scares me, i mean you could make it work.. but i couldnt see it being in anyway safe, if its making one you want to do with out making your own frame, id personally choose the berg go karts, can be picked up for under a hundred euro, a few minor bits of fabrication an welding an you can have a nice little kart..safe aswell.. but again them drift carts would be even safer, lower down to the ground so less chance of flipping it or anything like that

Even the GiXXer kart was based on a purpose built chassis though. Albeit extended to make room for the engine.
