Do Masters and post grad programs look at your 2nd year score?

Hi guys. I am doing a 3 year course called a B.A. in Contemporary Culture and Society. I know for certain that our 2nd year marks do not count towards our final mark. Our final mark is solely based on our 3rd year scores.

However.... Do post grad/master programs look at your 2nd year marks, regardless of whether they count towards your final score or not? I have heard that certain masters and post grad programs will take a look at your 2nd year marks... but how common is this?

I could be wrong but doubt its common. Any masters I've seen would just have overall degree requirements such as 2.1/2.2 minimum etc, and even if you don't have that level of degree you can nearly always find a way into the program. My particular masters even if you have a pass degree you enter the program as a GD, and transfer to the masters halfway through if you have an average of >55%. No difference between the GD and Msc other than a thesis.

Typically they look at overall degree grades, such as 2.1 in a relevant Bsc / BA, rather than individual marks.

I passed by compensation in one of my final year exams, but my overall grade was 2.1 so it was not an issue when accepted to do MSc in DCU.
