What to do after jobbridge internship finishes?!

Okay, so I moved from Athlone to Dublin in October and I'm nearly finished my marketing internship. The company I'm working for have just lost three big clients and are not in the position to keep me on. I've learned so much from them though... so I really do appreciate the time spent with them.

However, I'm finished in three weeks and there's no way I'm going home to Athlone to sigh on JSA again and move back with the parents!

I'm barely scraping by with rent and bills the €238 pw but it's doable and I've managed to get two credit cards!

Anyhow I'm going to start the big job hunt when I finish...hopefully something will come my way soon! So I'm going to stay in Dublin for the foreseeable future.

I am wondering, since the last place I signed on was in Athlone do I have togo home to sign on again or can I get it transfered... will it get paid into my bank a/c? Is there only one place in Dublin to sign on?! I live in Sandymount D4... Does anyone know where the nearest social welfare office/signing on office would be in relation to there?

Apollo House in Tara Street covers both Dublin 2 and Dublin 4. http://www.welfare.ie/EN/ContactUs/Pages/swlo_apollo.aspx You should go there to request your payment be switched to Dublin. Bring evidence of your address in the area etc. You can apply for Supplementary Welfare Allowance from the Community Welfare Officer at the local health centre http://www.welfare.ie/EN/ContactUs/Pages/cwo_contact.aspx
in order to tide you over in case there is a delay in getting transferred. While with the CWO you might enquire if you would be eligible for Rent Supplement http://www.citizensinformation.ie/en/social_welfare/social_welfare_payments/supplementary_welfare_schemes/rent_supplement.html

If you are just scraping by on the €238 it will be very hard to manage on €50.00 less. Be careful with those credit cards! Your money will be paid into the Post Office.

Thanks a mill for your help. I will go into Tara street the Monday I finish so. Hoping I wont have to sign on for very long!

While I dont know too much about the welfare side of it the one bit of advice would be to start looking for work now!! Dont wait until you are finished!!
