    Hi All,

I'm pulling my hair out with frustration so I hope someone can help
I have a Brother HL-4070CDW *wireless* printer. I am trying to set it up wirelessly.
But... It won't work! I have tried countless times but I can't get it to "find" the printer.
Any and all help would be very graciously received (before it gets chucked out of the window)

    Thanks guys :)

Have you installed the driver for it? Usually the driver installer will offer "assistance" with the connection procedure. Also if you go into Devices & Printers in control panel>Add printer does it show up?

    Hey Nick,

I've tried that. I was on E-how and they said go to "start" - "printers", then add printer. That started the wizard, and from there I've followed the so-called "instructions". It registers that the printer is there, but it won't hook up to it wirelessly. It's driving me mad

You'll need the actual driver suite to install it wirelessly.

Go here and click on your operating system and download the full package (usually at the top of the list).

Did you setup the printer on your local area network? Or are you not using your Wifi for internet access? Because if you are connecting to a wireless broadband modem, you can't connect to a printer at the same time (unless you have two wireless adapters in your computer). This has got nothing to do with your computer or the software. Before you can install it, the printer must be connected to the network.

You'll have to go through the printer menu, find WLAN settings. It should detect your router (if in range), you will be prompted for the WLAN security key. When it is connected to the network you install the software and the printer should be detected.
