5 Philips Energy efficient bulbs for €5

    Previously retailing ar €2.68 each.

Just saw the Above deal in Woddies in Cork near Kinsale Round about.

Seems like a cracking deal for energy efficient bulbs.

Only potential downside is they are slightly slow slarting up but other that they should be fine.

Look at the 2nd image. Fast start = 5-30 seconds.

Found the dame deal in Woodies in Galway 2 months ago and subsequently went on a shopping binge and replaced all bulbs in fitting sockets in the house.

Note those light bulbs are only 11W (50W equivalent), so brightness is low of 1 bulb alone (we have 3 bulbs per lamp in the hall and living room, so that's fine and bright enough).

Startup is a bit dark for the first couple of seconds, but after half a minute the lights have become much brighter.

    Everybody should get these, really.

    And that's 5-30secs to reach 60%!

These were 50cent each in Texaco Shankill recently and when I posted about it someone posted that they were 62cent in Tesco. I'm not sure if they're still there, but at the time of me buying 20, the girl in the shop said it wasn't a special offer, that's just the price.

In certain areas they may not be suitable i agree.

I for example have them put in the hall where I leave a lamp on for hours on end or in any area of the house that needs light on for more than a short time.

A bathroom may not be suitable for example for this type of bulb.
