After watching the Ulster senior cup Final on Setanta I think the future is bright for Ulster rugby. What's been missing in people's opinions?

I think we've lacked experienced heads in the squad in the past. The signing of the likes of Muller, Afoa and Pienaar has added this experience and now guys likes Ferris, Best and Trimble are now leaders within the squad as well.

We still lack the depth of Munster and particularly Leinster and it will take another year or two before we can really address that.

As for yesterday's game the MCB TH James Harrison may be one to keep an eye on (we're all desperate for THs in Irish rugby at the minute) and the MCB 11 (Benade, only a fifth former) 13 (Gribben) and 15 (Calhoun) look to be good players, although in saying that as powerful a runner as Gribben was he only passed it once and never from memory went on the outside, he also cut in, you can do that at schoolboy level but if that's all he's got he'll struggle even at AIL level. The Ballyclare winger Ferguson looked a decent wee player too. We'll see if any of them go further in the game.

More outside backs! Just what Ulster don't need!

True but of all of them it's the TH Harrison who I'd say at this stage would have the best chance of getting to the Academy and maybe beyond.

That's good. It's important ulster keep producing good young players or else there'll be noone left for the Irish management to ignore.

Think you mean Ulster Schools Cup final. Ulster Senior Cup final was won by Ballymena in December.

Lads I'm a leinster fan but have to say have loved watching Ulster this year, the turnaround over the last two years has been amazing, I even stuck a sneaking 10 e/w bet on them at christmas for the heineken (50/1).

things are only looking up for you's as well with T bowe coming back and the ulster academy looking like it's doing a good job, I wouldn't want to be munster in that 1/4 final!

I'd be a Munster supporter, but of course I support all of the Irish provinces. I wouldn't be at all surprised if Ulster do a number on us in the quarters - I'd only hope that they'd have the nous to make it through a semis (a quality Munster usually have in spades).

Munster have the big game experience that we lack a bit, reaching the 1/4 final last year and the ML 1/2 final will have helped a bit but now we need to get the winning habit at knockout level.

We have a good side but we're lacking at 10 and that's arguably the most important position on the pitch. Maybe next year Jackson will rise to the challenge but it's a big problem for now. In saying that Humphreys on any given day could have a stormer and he's done it before at Thomond Park to be fair.

I'll be going to Limerick with a bit more confidence than I had when I went to the Q/F against Northampton last year but I still think we're underdogs.
