Hi, I haven't flown aer lingus in years but they were cheaper than ryanair for our flights to portugal next month. travelling with himself and our 18 month old so have booked the window and aisle seats in the hope that we might get the whole three seats to ourselves. does anyone know if these seats will be marked as pre booked/reserved? would be great if we could wait til most people have already boarded before we got on. if not one of us will board early and sit in the seats to keep them but would be nice not to have to split up. thanks

When people are checking in or selecting seats, they'll see that the window and aisle are taken and may be put off, but they also may have no other choice.

It's not like Ryanair where you just get on and sit where you want. If someone is allocated the middle seat, then too bad for them (or for you, depending on how the wee one is for flying!).

FWIW, we've flown with both several times with our daughter and both are very accommodating for infants. The one time we had to share our row with another person on Aer Lingus, they moved us up to a vacant row with more legroom.

If you need any tips for travelling with a baby, ask away!

The seat you prebooked will be numbered on your ticket and nobody else will be given that number seat. unlike Ryan air where you can sit where you like

ok thanks, i get it now. everyone will end up with a seat number allocated to them once they check in. we'll just have to see what way it works out so!
flew to france last year with her at 9 months old but she slept almost the entire time and we got loads of compliments how good she was!! Not sure what to expect this time, have a few toys bought to amuse her but will probably end up bribing her with bags of corn snacks (aka baby cocaine) :D

    Hi,

I booked a flight to America a couple of months ago and did the whole seat selection thing at the time of booking. I just got an email telling me that I didn't and now myself and my girlfriend only have one seat option (there is only one seat not reserved on the flight) Does anyone know is this a generic email or a glitch or what? thanks
