    Hi Folk,

this is probably a bit mundane but from a mondeo titanium x or an accord ex which would be a best buy?

Its going to be a uk purchase, about 2007 ish.

    2.0 petrol

    cheers.

by best buy I mean reliable and a solid comfortable drive, the goodies are nice too of course.

On a 07 plate I presume you are looking at the current model Mondeo and the old model Accord. If so I would think the Mondeo would shade it because it is a more modern design. Both would be pretty much on a par for reliability, the Mondeo would be a better car to drive but the Accord would be better equipped and the i-VTEC engine would be more economical. If it is the old model Mondeo then the Accord would be my choice. You really need to test drive examples of both though to make up your own mind.

One more thing, have you priced the same models here? Being 2.0 litre petrol means these cars should be pretty cheap to buy in this country that is obsessed with low tax diesels at the moment. I know someone who bought a low mileage 08 Mondeo 2.0 litre petrol Titanium X recently for around €11k. The same car cost around €36k brand new 4 years ago.

07 accord on carzone, 11k or more. for ex trim.

there is no titanium x 07 on carzone.

I am buying in UK anyway, prices better.

I'd go for the Accord, the new Mondeo is very fleet-ish looking, even in higher spec.

Exec Accord is a smashing car. Fine size and comfortable ride. I like Mondeos but prefer the Accord.

i could probably go for a 2.4 accord but tbh the petrol price just makes it a bit too scary a proposition..!
