CUPA 5 Heavy

    Hi Folks,

Anyone have any experience of the CUPA 5 Heavy slate (20x10 CM)?

I am thinking of using these slates for re-slating an old stone outhouse.

They are the heavy Natural Grade which means there will be plenty of grading and probably a few more breakages. Guarantee is only for 50 years as opposed to the 100 that applies with most other CUPA slates.

Just wondering if anyone has any views on these slates. Water absorption etc seems to be low according to the declaration of conformity. They are meant to have no iron pyrite trouble.

Price is €1.05 per slate, so with VAT @ 13.5 % they are coming in at just under €1.20 per slate.

I am just terrified I am being sold a pup. Do they break (after fixing on the roof), loose colour, have pyrite trouble etc. Feedback much appreciated or suggestions on a better natural slate.

    Thanks

Any recommendations or otherwise by PM please, as asking for a criticism on a particular product is not what this forum is for.
