    Hi,

Am abit confused here. I received a verbal* warning from my company but then a week later I got it in writing now I thought the rule was a verbal warning then a written warning but is this a case of me getting a 2in1 at once have I got a case?

    Thanks,
    Francie

You got a written warning, but a week later got it in writing? That doesn't make sense.

Did you get a verbal warning in work, and then get a letter a week later? If so it's likely you only got the verbal warning confirmed in writing - but it's also possible you got a verbal and a written. Check what the letter says very carefully as to whether it confirms a previous warning or not.

In any event, be on your best behaviour and you've no need to worry.

You dont say what its for.

Check your companys disciplinary procedures and see what they say. You should have received an employee handbook
There may be certain cases were the offence allows for the employer skipping the verbal warning.
A verbal warning also requires a letter and the in my companies case the signing of the letter with the employee accepting the verbal.

We would routinely given written confirmation that a verbal warning had been given.. It doesn't mean it's a written warning, just evidence that it has been delivered...

As has been said, it's written confirmation of a verbal warning. I would always formally write to employees following issuing a verbal warning (or any warning) and would place a copy in their file.

Right well that clears that up I was thinking of that myself a 'verbal warning made official in writing' it was for leaving my area before time and making a couple of mistakes just really your nit picking crap.

    Thanks all

It should say Verbal Warning in the letter.
    Just HR stuff .

Not the best attitude to have in your situation. It would be better to learn from it.

If it is not normal company policy where you work, it could be that your manager has a plan to get rid of you so is being very careful and covering all her bases (e.g. "...and here's a copy of the first verbal warning he received...")

Of course if this is simply company policy, you can probably ignore the above.
