    Guys,

Im in the process of changing my pedals, ive the bike upside down and the none-sprocket side is done...

For the life of me i cant get the one one the side of the sprocket off!?!?!

    Any suggestions ....

Im using a pedal wrench and an allen key ... In which direction should each be turned, keeping in mind the bike is turned over...

    Ta

The pedal on the side of the drive undoes in the normal way, the non-drive side (left when its the right way up) undoes the opposite way.
ie - R/H pedal anticlockwise to undo, L/H pedal clockwise to undo.

Don't forget to put a little grease onto the new pedal threads before you put them on (helps with later removal as it keeps corrosion out)

Easiest way i've found is turn the back around so it's sitting on it's tyres and turn the allen key anti clockwise as in towards the back wheel.

If that doesn't make sense this should help:

For both pedals you should be turning towards the rear of the bike when its not tunred upside down. I had the same problem and for the life of me could not turn the wrench (real stubburn). tried wd40 to no avail. Eventually just cycled down to the nearest bike repair place and they did it as a favour because I was a regular customer.:D

stand the bike up right, always turn the allen key towards the front wheel regardless of what side your on

Just to add a bit of clarity here.....the drive side pedal (Right) has normal right hand threads, the non drive side pedal (Left) has left hand threads.
Right hand threads open in a counter clockwise direction, no matter if the bike is up side down or right side up.
Left hand threads open in a clockwise direction, again which ever way the bike is sitting.
This of course presumes that you are on the right hand side when working on the right hand pedal, and on the left hand side when working on the left hand pedal.
Think of a clock, if you twist it so that the 6 o clock is on top the arms will still move in a clockwise direction.
As for descriptions of spanners etc going towards either the front or rear of the bike, you need to specify whether the tool is facing up or down.
I usually use a mallet to strike the spanner when loosening pedals, it saves a lot of energy.

You need a bit of brute force. Did mine and it took ages with the help of a friend. Turn anti clock wise to loosen. It will take a will but they should start to give. Size 15 wrench (presume it's the same on all). Oh and a bit of WD40
