    hi all

    quick question for you

whats the best website showing guide prices for SH cars in Ireland, talking specifically small diesels 1.4 1.6ish.

going car shopping soon the asking prices I see in donedeal and on carzone tend to vary a bit

the UK has parkers.co.uk where you can see a guide price for a 3yr old model, do we have something like this in Ireland

We don't have an equivelant, just do your research Possibly on a spreadsheet

As Colm said, one of the reasons for the variation in price is that DoneDeal is for the private sellers, just want rid of the car and Carzone is mostly used by Dealers so the prices reflect this.

It's quoting an 'average retail price' whch is completely useless. They don't know if your car has any extras or what condition it's in, if it's manual or auto, metallic paint or not, service history, etc. etc.

never knew the site beepbeep existed, i suppose that tool simply calculates an average price of all the cars listed?

It's run by the SIMI, it also has a secondhand search which obviously only throws up cars for sale with SIMI members, they must be trying to squeeze out carzone.ie

go onto donedeal, find the car and knock about 5% off to get its rough real price

if its diesel <2 litre make that 10% or more as they're wildly overpriced at the moment
