SkySports Wrong - Harrington IS qualified for Masters 2012

During its coverage of the tournament in Florida last night, Sky Sports had a graphic of 3 players it said were not currently qualified for the Masters. One of them was Harrington.

That's 100% wrong. Open champions and US PGA champions get a 5-year exemption into the Augusta field, so PH will be teeing it up next month in the first major of the year.

    Bad mistake.

Noticed that. Was NBC who made the mistake though, not Sky Sports since they were the host broadcasters.

I thought the same myself as I was watching it, but just except that I was wrong.

Thats a biggy mistake to be honest but typical of media coverage in a world where the internet is always correct and nobody bothers to check it out. Very lazy broadcast and you think someone on Sky would have pick up on it, seen they spoke about it afterwards.

Im nearly sure they are just after saying again that Harrington will have to make the masters on points. (watching the tavistock cup now)

Thought it was the golf channel rather than nbc, but it wasn sky themselves for sure. they were attempting to show people outside the top 50 who were in contention and therefore who could qualify for masters with a good finish. He was one of 3 they put up.
