    Try some of my suggestions with CAPO I and standard tuning;

    Coldplay - Viva la Vida

C, D, G, Em strum down four times and strum up four times for each chord

Shania Twain - You're Still The One

    D, G, Em, A, D, G, A

    U2 - All I Want is You

    G, Cadd9, Em, Cadd9

    Good luck:)

Most of the Nirvana stuff is fairly easy to play. "come as you are" was the first song I learned. It needs Drop D tuning, though. But it sounds OK with the standard tuning as well...

Yeah, all the way through except for the parts where the C is replaced with an A minor.

Come As You Are isn't in drop D. Are you thinking of All Apologies?

You sure drop D isn't the tuning for Come As You Are?

    ?

Its an a7 or something and its very close sounding to a C if you ask me , especially to a beginners ear , try it , fits perfectly fine G D C all the way through .

The Nevermind version of the song is in normal tuning but a full step down (DAFCGD) but there may well be a version out there in drop D.

It's A minor every second time.

Try All Along the Watchtower. Am, G, F, G repeat.

I must admit that I am thinking specifically of the Guns N' Roses version so maybe they play it differently to the original.

Keeping up the Guns N' Roses theme, I found the intro to Don't Cry to be a useful riff. There are a few chord changes and you've got to organise your fingers properly to sound out all the notes properly:

I am actually not sure anymore since I haven't played this song for quite a while.
I am playing in C now, so it would sound rather weird anyway.
But as far as I can remember it sounded better in Drop D than in G tuning....

Is this in relation to Come As You Are? If so how do you play it in Drop D?

www.chordie.com is a great site, it even gives you versions in different keys if you want to get out of using the capo.

Yea I usually use ultimateguitar.com but it pisses me off with people doing complicated versions of songs . Seems it feeds their ego if the song has all minor 7 chords or dmaj7 over f and stuff . I wish they just had a beginner version of each song seperate.

Yeah i website for beginner songs would be great. thanks for the help.
