Drink Driving

    Hi All

I did an extremely stupid thing last night i drove under the influence. The purpose of this thread is for some legal advice. I know what i did was stupid, a moment of madness.

I can't exactly remember the crash but apparently crashed into a parked car in Lucan. No one was injured bar me.

Garda came etc and i did a breath test which i failed. I was brought to the police station. The garda said and i quote "Don't worry too much, you can fail after 1-2 pints, this next test just tests the levels on your breath, but you look fine so don't be worrying" (i was stressing out) So i felt i was ok becasue i felt ok and the Garda didn't seem to think i was too drunk.

Anyway the reading came back at 90mcg which i know is very high. I have to appear in court next month. I'm extremely worried because i need to drive for work.

So my question is - what is going to happen? how long a ban? fine? I've read various sites but with the law being updated last October I can't find anything concrete. I'm not look for advice on getting out of this,iI hate people who drink and drive and i hate myself for what i did. I just want to know what to expect. My licence is clean and I've never been arrested for anything. I of course will be contacting a solictor but my mind has been racing all day.

    Thanks in advance

Contact a solicitor and do so quickly.
