    Hi there,

I am new to boards.ie so i'm sorry if this is in the wrong thread.

Im no expert on cars, but I have a good interest. I am looking for open advice on the following:

Hoping to change my current 01 Audi A4 in the next while. I am having a look around and besides upgrading my current A4 to a 2009 or 2010 one, I was wondering what people here think of the Volvo S40 or the BMW 320d as other alternatives?

The car in mind would have to be a diesel as I do almost 85miles commuting to and from work daily. What would be the best option do you reckon? I took a 2010 320d for test drive last week and I thought it was a lovely car, I am taking an 2010 A4 for a test drive next week and hope to test drive a S40 as well soon enough. Anything I should be aware of with those model cars I mentioned? Are there other cars out there as good that I should be looking at?

    Thank you.

Honda Accord diesel or Alfa 159 diesel. If you need space then look at the Skoda Superb.

S40 is quite a bit smaller than the other two though so bear that in mind.:)

You could probably get a brand new or a 2 month old demo model Hyundai i40 for similar money to a 2010 A4 or 3 Series. The i40 is alot bigger, probably better equipped and comes with a 5 year warranty.
