01 avensis d4d engine problem

    i have my avensis d4d hatchback when i bought it was chugging when i hav the car stopped an rev it its perfect but wen im driving an it hits 2.750 to 3.000 rpm its starts to chugg i changed the fuel filter now my buddy has a saloon model avensis diesel aswell we swapped cam sensors drove the car same problem swapped the map sensor drove the car same problem:mad: has anyone come across this problem before

    Try swapping the EGR valves over.

    Your best to get a diagnostic scan done to car, it saves all the guessing and swapping/buying various parts without needing to

    Yes I have seen similar symptoms on Avensis D4Ds before and the EGR valve has been the cause. There are usually pretty clear fault codes to point you in the right direction. It is up to you whether you want to take the time to swap the parts over or spend a few quid getting the problem diagnosed.
