Sky Price Freeze

Along with all existing Sky customers I received the letter from Sky last year promising a price freeze until 2013. As far as I remember this freeze would be in effect until August 2013.

I was surprised therefore to see this statement in the link below:

"As a result, we’d like to give our customers peace of mind by freezing your current Sky subscription until 31 August 2012."

    http://www.sky.com/helpcentre/account-and-billing/payments-and-billing/enjoy-more/

The statement is in the first link on this page: "What does the price freeze mean for me?"

I'm just wondering are Sky trying a fast one again. Anyone know more about this?

    Thanks

That could be the UK price freeze. http://www.sky.com/ireland/freeze The Irish site says 2013.

They'd want to freeze it till 2020 to justify the rip-off prices the Irish customer is being charged.:mad::mad:

Its possibly to do with the new EPL viewing rights kicking in August 2013. I would say if Sky have to pay a fortune to keep EPL on Sky sports, any increase will be passed onto the customers. Sky will come out with the usual BS saying theres been no price increases for 2 years etc etc.

By then they would have lost a lot of customers to soarview/FTA satellite.
