Newbie toddler to cycling

Summer is fast approaching and I want to get my toddler cycling, I don't mean teach her how to cycle she can do that already but we are looking to get her (and us ) a bit fitter, are the children bikes in smyths and the likes good enough or can we get her a proper sized children's bike, we are fairly clueless on bikes but…

She understands some rules of the road as it is such as traffic lights junctions..etc
