http://m.scotsman.com/sport/golf/john-huggan-tiger-woods-s-achilles-squeal-shows-how-far-mighty-have-fallen-1-2181147. Not beating around the bush with this one. An awful lot of truth to it though, imo. Somebody said in a seperate thread how lucky we are to have Padraig Harrington as the face of Irish professional golf, especially how he conducts himself during interviews. Tiger does himself no favours in this regard- curt, repetitive and a master at the art of talking whilst saying nothing. I cant see him finishing his career without winning another major, but I now seriously doubt hel beat Jacks 19. And, sadly, his job is becoming more difficult because he probably has more people than ever not only doubting his chances, but also hoping he fails

My take on it is that its a bitter, pathetic article. Does professional golf also have to be a nice-guy competition?. Does the man understand the history of Woods' injuries. Surely it is reasonable to walk off if he suspects something is wrong just 5 weeks or so before the Masters, he's not a doctor, and he has little to prove as regards playing on injured (US Open).

I don't like Woods' personality, but the media went to town on him. He's done his time in my opinion, infidelity and divorces happen, his ex-wife has millions to console her. He's short with the media..thats just the way he is and he won't change. He has created millions of golf fans, taken the game to another level of interest. There are many people working in jobs that would not have come about without Tiger's impact directly or indirectly.

He's got his flaws, i don't think he'll ever be the player he was, but the sport will miss him when he calls it a day.

An interesting article, with some good observations, but he seems to relish far too much in the opportunity to drag Tiger Woods down several pegs. We all know what Tiger did and does... do you want him to turn round and start being the 'nice guy' of golf? He's never been that and that was part of his aura.

Huggan, leave off the snide back-stabbing, it makes you look petty.

A painful article. My sentiments are exactly as McIlroy summed up in the final statement. Let the battles begin - and hopefully we do actually get some.

There is a fair bit of this in the media in last year or so, all looking to kick him when he is down and appearing to enjoy it a bit too much. He may not be a great advert for anything but articles like the above are no great example of how to conduct yourself either.

Poorly constructed by a guy with an obvious chip on his shoulder. Perhaps Tiger told him to stuff it at some stage.

I'd love to see Tiger get it back together. Could it get any better than himself and McIlroy both vying for the lead on the back 9 of the masters with both of them on song...
