hey all, i seen some of the threads on here and people seem to be getting, and giving, really good advice.

So i said i'd try and see if someof you guys have seen any deals which may suit me.

i'm looking for a laptop, with atleast 4gb RAM and a decent set of graphics, aswell as a Processor speed of 2gb or above.

    intel i3 and above preferable.

doesn't have to be anything special, but i would like a good spec laptop as i will be using it for college, and maybe the odd gaming experience.

i am thanking you in advance :)

That is just sooo relative. ;)

You'll have no trouble finding a Core i5 with a discrete graphics adapter for around 650 Euro, but the card will be enty level at best.

If you're willing to strech your budget a bit more, here's an ASUS for €699 with a Core i7 2670QM, nVidia GeForce GT520M, 8 GB RAM, 750 GB HDD, DVD-RW, HDMI. The graphics is really nothing to write home about but you'll have CPU power and memory in abundance.

thanks for the swift reply Torqay!
i seen you commenting on some other threads specifically for gaming, and found your responses to be helpful.

in regards to the model you specified here, its a very, very nice machine.

but i am in college, and that would maybe be stretching it abit, 650 was actually the top of my budget, but if this model is actually worth the stretch, i suppose i could count my pennies and see where it gets me. ;)

i've been looking pretty extensively around the interwebs, and have seen a few i like.
this would be my favourite, Acer
    opinion?

apologies for my comments, am new to this type of forum layout.
hopefully my link works as i planned. :p

Edit: with a bit of editing, i was successful.

No discrete graphics, the very same model but with 8 GB RAM and a AMD Radeon HD7670 is available at komplett, again for €699. ;)

    There's also a very nice MSI 15.6" CX640DX 479NL: Core i5 2430M/4GB RAM/500GB HDD/NVIDIA GeForce GT540M for €599

Now, I much prefer MSI over Acer re quality of build.

Hmm yea i see what you're saying, i actually missed that when i looked.

the price is still keeping me away from those i'm afraid, if i was spending 700 on a laptop, i'd like to stretch and go all out on a DELL XPS.
but then i'd just be dreaming, silly college student.

that MSI looks like a real bargain to me, pretty much has everything im looking for.
any idea if it has Bluetooth?

i seen it has USB 3.0, so that's a bonus.

pity its so boringly black, and not luminous green.:p

    Edit:
just noticed it was actually silver, i googled it for more information, and it was completely black.
    my bad.

I don't think so... but hey, a USB BT adapter will cost you a tenner if you really really need it. ;)

It does have HDMI out tho

i already have one for my current laptop.
that being said, it has seen better days.

Alright thanks very much for the help, i would +1 you but i don't actually see where the rep system is(if there is one).

i shall probably buy that MSI if i don't see anything else in the current week.
shall post about it later to help out others.
