    As the title says I cannot pick up the Meteor network after flashing it with the CM7 Rom, been racking my brains and trying to look for solutions online and can't seem to see anything.

    Has anybody come across this situation before, any help greatly appreciated.

    Got that problem sorted out a little while back, other bits and bobs has me a little weary of using it day to day, looks the absolute business and if they every get a stable working version of it I might seriously consider giving it a go.

    Configure proper apn details. Rom may not have come with pre-installed settings for Irish networks. Some do, some don't.

    Cm7 is stable as it can be on Wfs, I have never had an issue with using it on my phone, I use it on and off, I'm waiting on Cm9 to be ported properly before I use that, in regard to your meteor settings, here they are :

    1. Settings 2. Wireless Controls 3. Mobile Networks 4. Access Point Names

    From here press menu, and select "New APN"

    Name this APN - Meteor Internet

    * APN: wap.mymeteor.ie
    * Proxy: 010.085.085.085
    * Port:8799
    * Username: my
    * Password: meteor
    * Server: http://wap.mymeteor.ie
    * MMSC: mms.mymeteor.ie
    * MMS proxy: 010.085.085.085
    * MMS port:8799 * MCC: 272 * MNC: 03 * APN type: default

    Go to menu, and sav - This will bring you back to the APN menu

    Press Menu again and select new APN Name this Meteor mms and add the following settings:

    * APN: mms.mymeteor.ie * Proxy: 010.085.085.085 * Port: 8799 * Username: my * Password: mms * Server: http://mms.mymeteor.ie * MMSC: http://mms.mymeteor.ie * MMS proxy: 010.085.085.085 * MMS port: 8799 * MCC: 272 * MNC: 03 * APN type: mms

    Press menu and save.

    When this brings you back to the APN menu you should have "meteor internet" with a green checkbox to the right and underneath you should have "meteor mms" with no green checkbox to the right..

    Before this works, you may have green checkboxes to the right of both APNs and by entering the APN type for "internet" as default and "mms" as mms, this should get rid of the checkbox to the right of the "meteor mms" APN and you should be able to send and receive picture messages and browse Meteors internet services.

    I have since switched back to the stock rom, I do appreciate the heads up thou :)

    Cheers lads, I had input the APN details into my phone and it still didn't pick it up, I think what worked was I was messing around in the security settings and changed it to require a password when the phone turns on to unlock the sim the next time I restarted it all the configurations for the Meteor network popped up.

    Couldn't get the Market up and running which means I couldn't install any apps :(

    @tyler - you can get the market going,, you need to install the gapps flashable zip after you install Cyanogen, match the version you have on the cyanogen wiki. Page ....

    Can't link now as I'm on my phone, I also recommend any of Mindhaxor roms on Xda

    I must of installed gapps about 10 times with no joy what so ever, I did love the close animation thought that was pretty nifty on the WFS, wonder can you get it without flashing?

    Might give that mindhaxor ROM a shot thinking about it.

    Regarding the gapps issue I think you have to boot up first, run the initial phone setup, then power off and try install, if that doesn't work, you must have the wrong flashable zip.

    Steer clear of the sense 3.5 Roms atm. Still a bit buggy, I am using a Mindhaxor one of stock, overclocked with data 2 SD, working fine for me until Cm9 hopefully gets ported....

    Installed mindhaxor ROM a little while back, seems to be running grand, how do you do updates? I have one there and I try to install but it keeps crashing I'm assuming that's because of a different ROM? Other than that it looks all good at the moment.

    Would love to get a stable CM7/9 working as it just looked the business.

    Really do appreciate the insights :)

    Because the Rom is based off official firmware it keeps telling you an update is available when its actually not! It's a weird one, are you s-off?

    I got my phone s-off a while back and it makes a big difference with flashing Roms and scripts, everything seems to work better, and of course I can use app2sd on roms that support it, so up to 2gb app space on this piece of **** phone!

    S-On, is it easy to S-Off?

    The phone has grown on me a little, use to have the HTC Sensation and it was stolen on me awhile back, first time I've ever had a phone stolen and only lost 1 phone ever & that was over 10 years ago, had 11 months left on my contract and Meteor wouldn't allow me to get Samsung Galaxy Nexus :(

    That's a bummer,

    Lucky I'm not on contract!

    I'm just using meteor pay as you go, I bought the phone from Vodafone last June, found out after to my horror that to get s-off on Wfs, you have to use a thing called an XTC clip that removes the security from the phones bootloader!

    After ages of looking around a fellow boardsie pointed me in direction of a internet cafe on Parnell street, facing Fibber Magees pub, kind of wooden interior, that did the deed for 20 quid. From then on in I could flash custom roms handy enough, and the main thing was to use app2sd for lots of apps.....

    I recommend getting it done if its gonna be your regular phone until your due your next handset upgrade, ICS will come eventually I would say, devs have bits and bobs working but its only a matter of time until a proper Rom is released 90% working....

    Actually read about that XTC Clip and it was like 50 bananas to get it done, never really read much after that.

    They seem to flash ok so far and haven't had too much trouble getting them done, is it a case of going into CWM and erasing the caches etc and then installing the rom from CWM in future?

    I was gutted when it got robbed because my best mate use to work for emobile and got me a great deal on the sensation (€19) and then when I went to get a new one I couldn't face ponying up €500 or so for a phone.

    It's probably around 50 to buy the clip outright nowadays, was 200 when I originally considered buying it, but its 20 lids for a one off job it really opens the phone up....

    (you never need it done again after)
