    I'm thinking of buying a Synology DiskStation DS212j from dabs.ie for EUR196.

Is this the best place to buy it and what drives should I put in it? It's for serving videos to my HTPC and music to my desktop.

Also I've never used a NAS before and I'm picking a Synology over the HP Proliant because I heard it's easy to install Sabnzbd on Synology devices. Is this true? I don't really fancy mucking around with command lines or with the NAS at all really.

My main PC is a Mac btw.

For that price, I'd just build a little mITX H61 computer. Throw Linux and a few drives in it and you're good to go. It also opens up a lot of other uses for the box too. Web hosting, FTP access, backups, uTorrent, game servers, etc.

TBH it's more the ease of use of the software that's attracting me to the Synology.
