I am playing catch-up on medical expenses today and trying to find out what I have received relief on. I put in a claim in Sept 2010 of 929.58 but my bank only received 325.18 - why is this - I would of expected more:o

If your claim relates to 2009, expenses (other than nursing home expenses) are only allowed at 20%.

sorry to butt in on your question but i'm sending off a med1 form as well. i was wondering - is there any way of working out how much you could get back? also do they want to know what medicines were bought? or just the amount spent?

i went into my chemist today and had a print out of my expenses for 2009-2011. do i post that away or keep it in case they want proof at a later date?

    thanks

Thanks Alan - that might be why so!

You need to enter the amount only. No receipts need to be sent. But you need to keep them in case they do a spot-check and audit you. I am not sure sure how many years you have to keep in case of audit - I realised today I have receipts back to 2001 which I think I am now save enough to dump!!:D

As already mentioned, no need to send off any receipts at the moment. You must retain them for 6 years.
