Online Purchase received Faulty Item

I made an online purchase of a CCTV System online about a month ago from the UK. Firstly parts were missing which I purchased extra to have the system installed. Contacted seller and he said he would refund £40, which i didn't receive as yet. Had the system installed only to find the guts of one camera was loose & wouldn't focus, I contacted seller and duly returned. On receipt he found the problem to be the same said all it needed was a tighten and returned saying problem was fixed. Anyways yesterday had engineer out again only to find that the camera has not been repaired the guts are still as loose as ever and camera wont focus, its useless.

Think at this stage i'm getting the run around. I paid through Paypal and know i've 45 days from sale date to open a dispute but just wondering what is the best thing to do as i've paid for the instillation of the system, the cost of replacing the missing items which were the leads to fit the system, also the return postage of the broken camera and callout charge for the engineer yesterday so at this stage am very much out of pocket. If i return the item again is it again at my expense and now just dont trust the seller to send a working camera. By no means was this system cheap and each camera is retailing at about €200. Have contacted the seller again yesterday and as yet haven't heard anything. There is 3 years warranty with the camera but surely that has to go through the seller. Any advice greatly appreciated.

Like you say, if you open a paypal dispute the cost of returning it is up to you and you will need to post via registered post to ensure the seller cant claim it 'got lost in the post', in which case you would get a replacement - but still be out of pocket for repairs and postage.
Anyone can correct me if im wrong here, but I think if you already had it adjusted and did anything to the item, it MAY void the warranty on it.
Maybe your best bet is to open a not as described dispute and instead of a full refund ask for a partial refund and you wouldnt have to return it then - thats if you got it working after all that.

Thanks for reply BengaLover thats what im worried about as seller said once he had fixed it he would test prior to sending also said that he would return it by signed for post which he did not do which makes me think that the camera is now worthless otherwise why would you not insure it as it is worth a few bob!
