Need new laptop for live work. Suggestions please.

Hey folks.

Not too sure if this is the right forum but reckon you lot would be he most knowledgeable when it comes to laptops for music so here goes:

I need a laptop for playing live.
I will be running ableton live which will be playing loops and midi instrument plugins through one soundcard (and one instance of Ableton Live)
I will also be playing guitar through another instance of abeton live using an amplitube plugin which will be playing back through a second soundcard.

The laptop I was using just about managed it but died on me during the week due to an unfortunate iquid spillage accident.

Has anyone any recommendations about what laptop and specs would handle the above requirements?

What is your budget?

If you can afford it probably best to go for a laptop put together with audio in mind.

You'd probably be looking at about 1600 euro for the 15" base model.

I ended up paying 2200 euro for
17" monitor
Intel Core i7 2820QM - 2.3GHz
16gb ram
256gb SSD crucial M4
750gb 7200 seagate
Windows 7

It might be worth looking at getting a SSD drive if you are planning on using it for live work.

The equivalent macbook specs of the laptop I got, with only the one hard drive, would run at about 3500.

Budget is Maximum of 1k, just cant afford anything higher.

I've seen a lot of people using Lenovo thinkpads. You can pick them up in around that price range. Keep an eye out in the refurb store

What I was running before was Windows 7, 3GB Ram, Pentim Dual Core and it seemed to handle it ok.
Didn't know of these other websites so many thanks.
